E!'s Wildest Party Parent -- featuring Dallas' own Corky Campisi and family -- finally aired last night and, as I watched, I actually felt 283 of my brain cells die. Maybe even a whole lobe, I'm not sure. So as a public service to you, and to ensure no one else has to endure this same fate, let me briefly re-cap:
- Corky Campisi is a sloshy old masher -- the standard-issue kind too.
- He has a daughter named Amber, who posed for Playboy. There are two other daughters but I'm convinced no one ever refers to them as anything other than "not Amber, the big one" and "not Amber, the blond one."
- Not Amber, the blond one is in her 20s and seemingly jobless. She lives, shops and parties with Corky and is tired of seeing him date young women who are only after his money.
- She objects particularly to one of Corky's girlfriends who appears to be from "a trailerpark. She shops at Target. We shop at Neiman's. Look at that striped shirt she's wearing."
- Not Amber, the blond one and Not Amber, the big one stage an intervention and Corky agrees to stop seeing the woman in the awful striped shirt. The family is saved.
The real upshot, though, might be that the blond one didn't get her own series out of the deal. And that was the whole point, right?

I saw the trailer for it and became afraid. This, well this was one reality show I had to pass on.
(So desparately trying to work in a trailer trash pun/reference somewhere but it just ain’t a gonna happen bless their hearts.)
hahha, I'm watching this right now. I feel like I'm not living with a purpose now compared to them... :-(
I saw the trailer too and was afraid too until I heard the daughter -- not Amber, the blond one -- say her dad was the wildest dad in Dallas. I had to watch after that.
And no, none of us is living with a purpose compared to them. I mean -- God! -- I shop at Target!
Sorry I missed this fascinating retrospective. I just know that if I ever have a daughter who appears in Playboy, I'll do the honorable thing and shoot myself in the head for failing as a parent. Call it my own form of empowerment.
Please let them all got shot or hit by a truck, I cant stand rich people who think their better then everyone else.
Please god, kill that entire dirtbag family.
This family is makes me embarrassed to say I'm a Dallasite. They are the epitome of trailer trash themselves! If I were those girls' mother, I would be so embarrassed that the whole world got an inside look at what a failure I was as a parent!
And as for Corky...I don't care how much money he has (and I suspect it's not that much) I wouldn't date him at any age. Poor Amber has sure let herself go. She must be eating at the family restaurant daily to have packed on that much weight.
Gina and Tara were pathetic as well. Gina comes across as a bouncer in a dyke bar. Tara seems like a typical ditzy blonde. All 3 girls look much older than their age.
I think all of you that actually took the time to write what you wrote on this page are F---ing PATHETIC. You are all probably ugly, fat, & lonely, having nothing better to do in life than dis others. I really hope things get better for you all. Its a damn shame that there are people on this earth as bored as yall!!!
I just finished watching this show and I have to tell you that I found it a little sad that Corky seemed to be trying so hard. I have to give it to the daughters for letting Dad know his taste in women was not the best and would probably not lead to anything meaningful... but hey... Corky did a great job building up his business, seems to be doing all right financially, and if he wants to have fun in his later years, more power to him. He's a grown man. Finally, I have to say that I'm not sure I see much difference in the behavior of his blond daughter and his "trailer" girlfriends. His 2 brunette daughters at least seem to be gainfully employed, though one might have been better engaged as a bouncer than bartender. I'm sure if someone put my family on film, it could be just as easily bashed so as I sit here in this glass house, I'm not throwing any stones, just stating my observations - right or wrong
Is this the same Corky Campisi that's the son of Joe Campisi? Joe Campisi, according to SOME federal documents, was boss of the Dallas organized crime family during the late sixties and seventies.
If you ask someone in the Dallas field office if there's LCN here right now, they'll tell you flatly that they don't even know.
Anyway, as for "building his business", Campisi's Egyptian was a very successful restaurant for decades before this guy got hold of it. And as far as I know Joe Campisi was never imprisoned or even indicted, so I'm sure Corky had a lot of scratch to work with leftover from the restaurant and God only knows what kind of rackets his old man was into.
The blonde one knows that every thousand dad spends on women, is a thousand less inheritance she'll be getting.
She has a definite vested interest in getting him married, to someone his age who'll die before or at the same time he will.
She left her mom at 12yo to live with her dad because he's the one that had all the money. She is as much a gold digger as the worthless tramps her dad persues.
The show was very funny though, because Corky rules. He should have his own show.

Personally,
I am an outsider because I knew the young ladies growing up and NOT knowing that their family was wealthy or prestigious for a LONG TIME. Honestly, if anyone gets to know Amber or Tara ( I dont know the others) they'll realize the girls are great and EDUCATED--both graduated from a prestigious University. Amber is the sweetest thing and so friendly and Tara is funny as hell once you get to know her. I guess people have a preconceived notion of what they are simply because they have more monetary assets than the average, but I dont care. They are great girls inside and out. Seriously what would you do if you were the Campisi's. Personally I would live life to the fullest like they have and keep up my business!
Tara is has a sense of humor...
You would have to know her to
understand.
Anyone here remember the private restaurant near Borrowed Money behind a flower shop at Central and Park Lane? You couldn't pay, only sign the bill. I met Ernest’s brother/cousin there from ESC in Shreveport (he was the guest chef) for dinner. Then came to Joe's place on Lovers on Sunday before heading back with a package (hmm you say, I was young and dumb). Years later I came through Dallas and stopped by and said hello to the ole man. Asked if the restaurant was still there. He looked at me like I was on the moon, just glared and said I was mistaken. It must have been a real hush thing, o’well. Would have to say the Play Girl they fixed me up with for the weekend was most incredible. On to my point, the food a Campisi's is remarkably consistent in all locations, as I’ve tried most. Knowing what I do about the industry, this is a true mark of distinction. Maintaining food control and high customer retention is an art. Joe established the menu and following. Luckily for us the family has been smart enough to continue and grow the proud tradition and name. Hats go off to the once powerful Joe and his troops for succeeding the old way in a time where only big money has taken over. Signed, Another Loyal Customer. PS Where are the girls these days? LOL…
