Faith Popcorn's latest predictions might be bad news for Pharrell Williams. But this seems more like wishful thinking: "Luxury consumers don’t want fashion that screams luxury; it’s ‘irresponsible’ during a recession, but they want something durable and worth the splurge."

Well, Cathy Horyn just raved about Jil Saunder--and that's about as low key as you can get. Plus, women actually want to wear the stuff, as opposed to the Prada direction which is aimed at other fashion insiders.
I like vintage Matsuda and Yamamoto for the same reasons. That, and hiding.
