Are we laughing at Wonder Bread or with Wonder Bread?

The brand did not have to pay a dime to be part of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

Some achieve icon status; others have icon status thrust upon them.

Yeah, I think the Wonder Bread people were exceptionally smart to sign off on the whole thing -- not because it was free, but because Farrell's deft comic treatment, as the article points out, only enhanced Wonder Bread's nostalgia factor.
