The movie On The Waterfront was in fact based on a 1940s newspaper series exposing union corruption in New York City. Now those articles have been compiled in
a brand new book. OK look, this is all just an excuse for me to say that the best scene in On the Waterfront is not Brando's "contender" soliloquy but Karl Maldon's
shipyard eulogy. Macho! In a priestly sort of way.
